Dani Pedrosa Win Estoril MotoGP

Dani Pedrosa win Estoril MotoGP after take Lorenzo on last 4 laps. Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner on 2nd and 3rd place. This Estoril grand prix tinged with some surprise. Simoncelli was crashed on the beginning of race, and also Hector Barbera. While Ben Spies and Karel Abraham also did not finished. Poor for Valentino Rossi that taken by Andrea Dovizioso on last lap a few second before finish line.

Valentino Rossi Upset About The Position

Valentino Rossi start from 3rd row on Estoril today. Commenting about the starting grid, Rossi told that he's very upset, because the target is on the second row. This is not the first time Valentino Rossi start from 3rd row. 

"I am very upset today and especially about the position because our target was to fight for the second row, around fifth or sixth place and we had the potential yesterday."

"But today I wasn’t able to ride in a better way and I had a problem with the front. So when I tried to push more I was too much at the limit with the front part of the bike. So more or less the problem remains the same and I can’t make any better unfortunately."

"For tomorrow it will be another difficult race starting from the third row. At the end we modified the setting and I improved the feeling and also the lap time but it is still not enough. We need to make another step like this to get a good result."

Rossi refused to blame damp patches that failed to dry during the entire day for his slump down the order and he said: "The track was a bit worse because yesterday it had better grip. Today it rained and it was half and half and we suffered too much with the front. We made a modification to the front and I improve but not enough. I expected to go into the 37s and be on the second row, but no way."

Cal Crutchlow Talking About Estoril Qualifying

Cal Crutchlow got 8th on the Estoril qualifying yesterday, 1 place better than Valentino Rossi. Starting today on 3rd grid, this British rider talk about his physical condition. Estoril track is the first time for Crutchlow. He didn't want to push to hard.

 "I don’t think I could have gone any faster or put in any extra effort than I did. And if I can keep coming to circuits that I’ve never seen and qualifying inside the top ten, I’m going to be really happy."

"At one point it looked like I might get my first second row but to be in between Colin and Valentino on the grid for my first race here, I’ve got to be really happy. I pretty much lost a session too because I only did a coupe of laps in the wet this morning."

"It wasn’t worth taking any big risks and I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to finish last. It is not easy on this track and I’m finding it quite physical. I’m still having some issues with arm pump in my right arm and to compensate I’m using my left arm a lot and that is stressing the shoulder I had an operation on during the winter."

"There’s no real time to relax and when you’re braking from 200mph to 30mph, it is really physically demanding on the arms and shoulders. I’m really looking forward to the race now and hopefully I can reward the team with a good result after all their effort again this weekend. My aim for tomorrow will be to finish in the top ten and get some more experience of the bike under my belt."

Lorenzo Pole Position, Simoncelli Crash Last Minute

Jorge Lorenzo ready to win again on Estoril. He took his pole position with best lap 1'37.161. Simoncelli on 2nd and Pedrosa on 3rd. On the last minute of qualifying session, Simoncelli crashed. Casey Stoner, Ben Spies and Andrea Dovizioso on 2nd row. Colin Edwards, Cal Crutchlow and Valentino Rossi on 3rd row.

All of MotoGP top riders were on 1-2 row. Only Valentino Rossi on 3rd row. Good progress from Bautista after injury make him start on 15th position, in front of Randy De Puniet and Toni Elias.

Casey Stoner vs Valentino Rossi Part Two

MotoGP drama on Jerez still continue. Casey Stoner make some comment about Valentino Rossi after 1st day free practice session on Jerez. As Stoner told, "It was like calling Valentino who was always following me. To find the best lap he was always behind me." 

Stoner added, "It's like a dog always following you everywhere so it was like c'mon (whistles), good boy. If he is struggling to do a lap time this is it. We had our problems during the session and we were focussing on this but I also saw he held up Toni Elias a lot to find his lap time so I don't think it is so correct."

This statement was quoted after Stoner was riled in practice that factory Ducati rider Rossi was following him to try and improve his lap time.

Valentino Rossi also told for the answer of Stoner's statement, "About today, I don’t think Casey likes me a lot. This is quite clear. First it was because I slowed down to catch my breath because I was quite tired and I wanted to make a last lap pushing."

"Stoner passed and I restarted to push. He was in front of me but I wasn't close but this happens in every practice and every race, so if he doesn’t want anybody to follow him then he has to race alone."

Rossi said he had seen Stoner's gesture and he added: “I saw it yes but I expected this. When we are together he always exaggerates everything too much. If I have to make like this in all my career for people that follow me then I break my seat."

Well, it's gonna be more interest on next Sunday race

Loris Capirossi Brake Honda Domination

Loris Capirossi strikes on the 3rd free practice GP Estoril. This Italian rider took this  best time 1'44.515 in faster than Jorge Lorenzo and Nicky Hayden on 2nd and 3rd place. Other Ducati's Valentino Rossi on 4th. Marco Simoncelli the first two free practice leader was on 9th behind four Honda riders, Casey Stoner, Andrea Dovizioso, Dani Pedrosa and Toni Elias. Toni Elias for the first time on 2011 took his 8th place.

This is not wet practice, but the temperature was drop after night rain on Estoril track. This condition make result unpredictable.

Ducati's After Estoril Free Practice

Both Ducati's Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden took good result on day 1 Estoril free prctice session. Valentino Rossi also said that his physical condition still hurts a little, but doesn't make a problem to him. While his teammate Nicky Hayden choose to use hard tyre on this session, and maybe soft on the race.

“I’m pretty satisfied with how the day went. Let’s start with my physical condition, which I’m very happy with: I was obviously aware of being a little better when I arrived here, but I wanted to wait until I tested my shoulder on the track, which confirmed that I’m able to ride well and have fun. It still hurts a little, and I’m missing a little strength, but the difference compared to my left shoulder is less. I can concentrate on riding the bike, and when watching myself on television, I can see that my style is starting to be a little more normal. Naturally, we’re also working on the bike. Today we used a different weight distribution and some changes to the electronics that worked well. For the first time, we went faster in the afternoon session than in the morning. We dropped almost half a second, getting us closer to the top. I still have some problems with rear grip, so tomorrow we have to do better, but I’m happy for now.”

Nicky Hayden

“This morning was not a good session at all, but the afternoon was a lot better. We had a problem with one bike in FP1. I’m not sure what happened, but we’ll send the engine back to Bologna to check it out. I went back out at the end, but we used hard tyres because I didn’t want to waste another soft tyre, since it looks like it will be a soft-tyre race this weekend. Also, I had just gone out with a new setting, and since I only did about four corners, we got no information on that. We lost some valuable time, but this afternoon went better—not spectacular, but pretty steady. I was in the top ten for most of the session, and I had a decent feeling with the bike—I would say better than what the lap time shows. I’m sure everybody thinks they can do better tomorrow, but I feel like we can do a good job and try to get in a good lap in qualifying, which is going to be really important.”
