Jorge Lorenzo heads to the 11th round of the 2011 MotoGP World Championship at Brno with one eye on closing the gap to Casey Stoner in the overall standings, but also another eye on the much anticipated post-event test for the new 1000cc Yamaha.
The Spaniard went into the summer break 20 points behind Stoner in the overall standings after the Australian got the better of him to the United States Grand Prix.
Nonetheless, Lorenzo is feeling positive about his chances in the Czech Republic Grand Prix, a race he won in 2010 on the way to his record-breaking title.
"After the long break we are going to Brno completely recharged and ready to fight and try to reduce the gap with Casey. This is a track I like and where I won last year. I hope we can start the second half of the season on the podium.
Beyond the race, however, Lorenzo is also excited about climbing aboard the new 1000cc Yamaha, which – unlike its Ducati and Honda counterparts - is yet to have broken cover.
“After the race we will be testing the 1000cc bike for one day. I am really looking forward to discovering the new Yamaha."
